Why do I use a different zip code? Simple, I live in Colorado, and about half the YouTube TV Channels send the Pacific Coast feed and not East Coast feed. VPN does work on Amazon Fire.įYI, Dinsey+, Hulu, ESPN, Amazon Tablets (to do software updates), Tablo (home device which takes OTA and sends it over your home wifi network) will not work with VPN. By the way, VPN does not work on Roku (maybe a reason why YouTube TV is playing hard ball with Roku). At least they have not done what Hulu + Live TV does forbid VPN, and will not let you watch Hulu + Live TV a mile away in another zip code. Thus, if you travel to different locations, you will need a VPN. Now, each device needs both the zip code and a VPN, if you desire a different location. Before today, if you set your location on one devices, all other devices, in your home, checked your account and associated with that zip code. So, a VPN will now be required to handle relocation to another zip code, on all devices. It looks like YouTube TV, at least on Amazon Fire, is now checking actual location by IP Address, in addition to indicating you are claiming to be in a certain zip code.
